Pop superstar Jade Thirlwall is set for one of the most nerve-racking moments of her career this weekend as she hands over her mobile phone for a gloriously risky “Send to All” — and this time there’s a twist. The former Little Mix star, now forging a hugely successful solo path, places her trust entirely in Michael McIntyre as he crafts a message that will be sent to every contact in her phone. Friends, famous collaborators, family — no one is safe. Expect big laughs, genuine panic and the inevitable scramble to explain herself afterwards.
It’s all part of a brand-new edition of Michael McIntyre’s Big Show, returning to BBC One from London’s iconic Theatre Royal Drury Lane. The National Television Award-winning series once again promises a spectacular night of feel-good, family entertainment packed with jaw-dropping surprises and show-stopping performances.
Also stepping into the spotlight is Tasha Ghouri, the Love Island finalist who has become a powerful advocate for the deaf community since rising to fame. Tasha plays a key role in one of the show’s most ambitious “Unexpected Star” segments yet. The theatre is dramatically transformed into a bustling train station as an unsuspecting member of the public — someone with an extraordinary story — is given the surprise of a lifetime. As always, the segment blends hidden cameras, elaborate staging and heartfelt emotion, building to a moment that’s guaranteed to have both the audience and viewers at home reaching for the tissues.
Music comes courtesy of acclaimed singer-songwriter Jack Savoretti, known for his rich, gravelly vocals and cinematic sound. With multiple top 10 albums and a reputation for electrifying live performances, Savoretti brings arena-level atmosphere to the West End stage, delivering one of his stirring hits in front of the packed Drury Lane audience.
And of course, it wouldn’t be Big Show without Michael himself at full throttle — from crowd-pleasing stand-up to his ever-popular Midnight Gameshow, where a sleeping family is woken up and given the chance to win big money in their pyjamas.
With pop mischief, emotional surprises, live music and McIntyre’s infectious energy, Saturday night’s Big Show promises laughter, spectacle and plenty of unforgettable moments.
